What is a Myofascial Release treatment like?Sessions are usually one hour although this can be customized to meet your need. Appointments are available in your home, at your office, or at my office. Many people notice an improvement after only one session. For chronic conditions or long-standing pain, additional sessions might be necessary. First a health record is taken. If you have a condition that should be checked by a doctor, please go see the doctor first! Your body will be checked for obvious imbalances, like one shoulder higher than the other, or a crooked knee. You will sit on a chair or lie on a massage table and gentle pressure will be applied. Sometimes the pressure will seem so light that you wonder what is happening, but then you start to feel the knot or tight area loosening. Myofascial Release is designed to relax the fascia throughout the whole body. Because tension in one area can affect and cause pain in other areas, these other areas of the body might need to be treated as well. For example, work on the hips and low back can help reduce tension in the neck which can in turn reduce headaches. Myofascial Release can help! |
